The Canoe
October 2014 Alex Blakham and Jessica Merwin launched their production Company Blue Swinging Doors with the filming of the Canoe. The footage captured during the week long shoot, initially slated to be a full length black and white feature film entitled Canto, was used to create a short lively film called The Canoe. The production team which included Rob Tough, And Mark Corless navigated natural disasters and devised the film around the difficulties they encountered. The film toured the summer film festival circuit in Canada premiering at the Halifax Independent Film Festival, Vancouver International Film Festival, Montreal Cinema Nouveau and the Atlantic Film Festival.
