October 2014 Alex Blakham and Jessica Merwin launched their production Company Blue Swinging Doors with the filming of the Canoe. The footage captured during the week long shoot, initially slated to be a full length black and white feature film entitled Canto, was used to create a short lively film called The Canoe.
